I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. My family and I were able to spend the entire week in San Antonio with my son Nicholas. What a great week! My son graduated from Basic training.He is now in the United states Air Force. 
The next few weeks are going to be very busy. We will be going Christmas caroling , we will have our Christmas program , cookie day , hot coco and a movie day , and our class party and gift exchange.And lot's of fun crafts. Be sure to be on the look out for all of these activities.

This weekend as we were cleaning out my sons room( Nick)
we came across a couple of books. When Nick was little a family from Japan attended our school. Long story short Nick made new friends and one of the friends gave him a special book. Guri & Gura  By: Reiko Nakagawa and Yuriko Yamawaki. This is a sweet story about friendship and sharing. The neat thing about this book is I don't only have 1 copy but 2 copies. 1 in English and the other in Japanese.The children really enjoyed looking at the different styles of writing. This is a perfect example of how great our God is. How he gives us the gifts of different languages and talents.Thank you Richie for the fond memories.

My middle son Nick left for the Air Force.I'm sorry about the homework packets. What a cute book!
If you don't know , I love wiener dogs! This is a story about a dog named Oscar.His classmates make fun of him. They tease him and just are not very nice to him. When one day they are in desperate need and Oscar comes to their rescue. In the end all the dogs become friends. You can check out this book in our school library.

Tomorrow is library day. Please bring your books to school tomorrow. Every Tuesday we will be going to the library. Your child must return their book before they can check out a new one.

Little mouse discovers a huge cupcake , but how will he carry it home? This is a very cute story about friendship , and sharing. In the end everyone gets a bite of the yummy cupcake. And mouse finds a way to carry the cupcake home. This book may be purchased by Scholastic Books.

We have a new friend in our classroom. His name is Snippy. He loves carrots , lettuce , apples , oranges , and grapes . Just to name a few. He also loves children. Another great book! Rabbit Stew By: Donna Kosow

Rabbits are sneaking into the dogs garden and eating all his vegetables!
So the dog catches them all and gets ready to make himself a nice rabbit stew.
But those clever rabbits have a few tricks up their sleeves!

The children really enjoyed this book.

Thank you to Gabriel Palomo and Sarah Rushe for their help in the library today. They are two of our awesome 8th graders.

Today was our first library day. The children had a great time. We went over the rules and learned how to check out a library book. Each child has a book that they checked out in their back pack. They may keep their book at home until next Tuesday. Every Tuesday will be our library day. Happy reading!

Reading Logs--
Next week we will begin reading logs.
Each week your child will be sent home a log on Monday. And it is to be kept at home until Friday. Each night as you read a story with your child write the name of the book on the log.At the end of the month I will tally how many books you and your child have read together. The child who has read the most books for the month will get a new special book from my collection to keep.Reading is a very important part of learning. And when you read with your child that special alone time is even more important. I know we all have very busy schedules but 15 minutes or so can make all the difference.If you have any questions let me know. Happy Reading....

What an awesome time we had today! We had a wonderful time today at the San Manuel Fire Dept. The children were able to sit in the fire engines,see where the Fire Fighters live while on duty , see where they study , eat, and even watch a fire fighter slide down a real fire pole. Thank you Mr. Tovar for your wonderful tour. And a special thank you to Mr. Ken Shoji for making this trip possible.I would also like to once again Mr. Perez Kadens dad for driving all of us on this trip.

Science- We have started our science books. We have learned many new things. Today we talked about animals. Wild animals and house pets. We took an in house field trip to the 5th grade classroom today. The children were able to see many exciting animals. Please be sure to ask them about their visit today.

Kinder Korner--
What's happening this week.....
Tuesday is our field trip to the San Manuel Fire station. We will be leaving the school at 9:30. EVERYONE needs a car
seat.

Graduation parts will go home today. Please begin having your child study their part. June 11th will be here before we know it.

Thank You to all who attended the Tea. It went very well. I hope you enjoyed your afternoon.

Nachos- We sold $132.00 worth of Nachos and Soda on Friday!
Thank you so much to Mr. Perez and Mrs. Hernandez for all their hard work. Although this was our last fundraiser for the year we will still be selling water bottles in the front office for the remainder of the year.Thank you to all who were able to donate as well.

Tomorrow is our spelling Bee. Chapel begins AT 8:45.

I am sending a reader home with each child this week. They need to read it to you nightly. On Friday please sign and return it in their homework folder. This is homework.

Nachos--
We will be having our final fundraiser for the year. We will be selling Nachos once again. This will take place on Friday May 3rd. Water Bottles-- We are in need of water bottles. If you are able to bring a case of water in that would be great.

Princess---
We have a new addition to our classroom.Thanks to a very generous lady we now have a baby Chinchilla in our classroom.Her name is Princess. The children named her.They are very excited.Please stop by and take a look if you have time.

Want to spend time with your child,build their reading skills,and help them learn to love books? Here are some suggestions. 

Read regularly. Try to read with your child every day.10 to 15 minutes a night before bed is a peaceful end to the day.

Take turns choosing books.

Let your child participate. Ask your child to turn the page as you read. Or better yet have them read to you.

Reading is a great time to spend quality time with your child.
