Book Review: A Ball For Daisy

I bought this book at our school book fair.
I bought this book because I love dogs.
And of course there was a cute dog on the front that caught my eye.

This book to my surprise had NO WORDS. When I opened the book to read it there were only pictures. So I made a cute story up about a dog who went on a walk with her mom. While on their walk they went to the park to play. Daisy loved to play catch. During a game of catch with a friend Daisy popped her ball. Daisy was very sad. After a night of being sad she woke up the next day and  went for a walk. On this walk she met up with her friend. To her surprise the friend brought Daisy a brand new ball. Daisy lived happily ever after.

A book with no words can be a great story with an imagination.
We talked about different stories that could of come from the same book. This is a fun book. And you can have many different stories if you use your imagination.

Book Review: Real Stuck, Way Up

Today we read a story about a delicious apple. This apple was stuck in a tree. Right in the middle of the tree. So... There was a boy who wanted this apple really bad. He first tossed his baseball into the tree to knock the apple out of the tree.Well his ball got stuck. Then he tossed his shoe and that got stuck too.
After many attempts and a glove , rope , truck, racquet and an umbrella to name a few now stuck in the tree.He climbed way up in the tree and shimmied and shook the tree.Everything seemed to fall from the tree but the apple and the boy. The boy was now stuck. So what did he do? He sat himself down and took a big bite of the delicious apple. The end............... Cute story

Book Review: Stanley's Party

For dog lovers like myself this is a very cute story. What really happens when we leave our pets alone? Only they know. Well this story is about a dog named Stanley. He was left alone quite a bit. When one night he had an idea . His idea was to check out how soft the couch was.Not only was the couch soft but he proceeded to listen to the radio , eat left overs from the frig ,and even invite a bunch of friends over for a party. All while his owners were out. After a few days of being sneaky he was found out. His owners came home early and found him having a party. I guess his owners felt they should spend more time with him. They started taking him with them where ever they went. The moral to this story is don't leave your animals alone. You never know what they will be doing while you are away.

Book Review: Listen, Buddy

This was a cute little book about a rabbit named Buddy. Buddy seemed to have selective hearing.
Until one day his hearing got him into some trouble.
He crossed paths with a Scruffy Varmint and was almost bunny soup. This was a good reminder how it is important to pay full attention when someone is talking.
Your child may check this book out in our school library.
BOOK FAIR.........................
We will be having our Scholastic Book Fair the week of January 27th. We need lot's of volunteers. If you are able to help Please let us know.
